What We Believe . . . .

This is a presentation of what we consider to be the Basic Biblical Doctrines. Space will not allow us to present a comprehensive listing of all Christian Doctrines. Nor will space allow us to include here all the Scripture references upon which these statements are based. The Scripture references are available upon request.
V THE SCRIPTURES V
The Christian Scriptures are a singular Volume of sixty-six Books - the Old and New Testaments. These Books constitute completely and entirely the Inspired Written Word of God, the only Infallible Guide for life and living. The Scriptures were breathed forth from the heart, mind, and soul of Jehovah God through the hearts, minds, and souls of some forty or so holy human-beings over a period of about 1500 yeas onto the Written Page. The Original Manu-scripts were accurate in every detail and were completely in keeping with the intentions of Their Author. The Scriptures that we have today have been preserved by the Holy Spirit in such a way that man has all he needs in Them - in It - to guide him into and through a full and meaningful life now and forevermore.
V GOD THE FATHER V
There is only ONE TRUE GOD - only ONE HEAVENLY FATHER. God the Father is co-eternal with and equal to God the SON AND God the HOLY SPIRIT. The three distinct Persons of God have personal attributes, but are ONE GOD. God is a UNIFIED-TRI-PERSONALITY.
God the FATHER is Almighty, All-Knowing, Ever-Present, Personal, Spirit, Sovereign, Perfect, Infinite, Holy, Love, All-Wise, and All-Powerful.
God the FATHER is the Creator and Sustainer of ALL.
V GOD THE SON V
God the SON has all the characteristics and attributes of God the FATHER and God the HOLY SPIRIT because He is co-eternal with and equal to Them. They, all three, are ONE.
God the SON, JESUS THE CHRIST, was conceived in and born by the Virgin Mary of the Holy Spirit in fulfillment of prophecy and as the Supreme Expression of the Triune God-Head’s Love for mankind. He possessed ALL of God and, yet, was fully Man, tempted as are other men, but without sinning.
The purpose of God the SON becoming the GOD-MAN was fulfilled. He came to die on the Cross of Calvary to pay the price of mankind’s sins and to shed His Blood to cleanse all of their sins who would turn their lives over to Him and to make a right relationship with God possible for the same.
He Arose from the grave and Ascended into Heaven where He now reigns at the right hand of God the FATHER as Head over the Family of God and as the One True Mediator between man and the God-Head.
He will come again to earth in similar fashion as He left and will judge the living and the dead and will gather His own to be with Himself forever.
V GOD THE HOLY SPIRIT V
God the HOLY SPIRIT has all the characteristics and attributes of God the FATHER and God the SON because He is co-eternal with and equal to Them. They, all three, are ONE.
God the HOLY SPIRIT has been at work in the hearts of God’s family Members since the beginning of time. He became involved in/with God’s People in a new way, though, on the first Pentecost after God the SON’S Ascension, as their Power Plant, Teacher, Comforter, and Inter-cessor. He convinces people of their sin, of God’s Goodness, and of the opportunity of being able to be delivered from the judgment of sin. He has a special role to play in that He declares to God’s Family Members that they are, indeed, Members of God’s Family. He brings forth virtues in and gives special gifts to God’s People. He dwells in and surrounds in a spiritually protective way God’s People until that great and notable day of the Second Coming to earth of God the SON.
V MAN V
The highest form of earthly life and the visible crown of all of God’s creation is the human race - mankind - man. Man was created by a direct and intentional act of God and bears within His being a Reflection and Similitude of the God-Head. By willful disobedience to God, man has separated himself from his Creator and has become deserving of eternal death. Man has no power in and of himself to bridge the gap that exists between himself and God. Because of man’s position in the universe, all men deserve respect and recognition of their individual dignity. The sanctity of all human life - regardless of the person’s age - must be affirmed and protected.
V SIN V
Sin is everything a human-being does without being convinced of God’s approval and everything a human-being does not do that he knows he should do. Sin is also every act a human-being does or does not do that is contrary to the teaching of the Scriptures regardless of the person’s feelings or convictions.
All human-beings have committed sin and, as a result, are separated from God and are destined for eternal death.
Each individual person is a sinner because of his own sinful acts, but, however, comes into the world with a sin-nature and an affinity toward sinning because of the sin of Adam.
God hates sin.
V SALVATION V
Salvation - redemption, reconciliation of man to God, eternal life - comes to a man when he sees his own sinful and hopeless condition and realizes what God the SON, JESUS THE CHRIST, has done for him and, consequently, entrusts, by God’s Grace, his life into God’s hands by inviting the Lovely, Living, Lord JESUS CHRIST into his life to be his Savior and Master.
Salvation is a Free Gift from God that cannot be earned, but only accepted or rejected. Apart from JESUS CHRIST there is no Salvation.
It is through receiving the Gift of Salvation that the gap between a man and God is bridged and a man’s fellowship with God is inaugurated. Upon receiving Salvation, a man becomes a Member of God’s Family.
V THE CHURCH V
The Church is comprised of all human-beings who have received God’s Gift of Salvation - both those living and those dead - and of all those in the future who receive Salvation. As such, The Church is the Body of the Ascended God the SON with Him being the Head. The Church is globe-encircling in Its expanse, but is expressed through local assemblies The purpose of The Church on earth is to Glorify God by building up and encouraging Its members through fellowship, teaching, and the keeping of the Ordinances of The Church as set forth by JESUS, to enlarge Its numbers by proclaiming the GOOD NEWS of JESUS THE CHRIST to the world, and to live out God’s Love in the world through acts of caring.
Pastors/Elders and Deacons are to be the officers of the local assemblies.
